As parents, our children often ask us questions we aren’t quite sure how to answer in a way that’s honest, but not over their heads.  For example, “Why am I different?”.  This can be especially troubling for the parent of a child with any physical or mental disability.  When the Hendersons faced this question from their son Trey, who has Down Syndrome, the answer Sherri gave him was that everyone is different from others in some way.  It was from that answer the poem Different Like Me was born, and has now been turned into this book with wonderful illustrations by Ani Barmasi.
